Yesterday was Administrative Professionals Day, and it marked the 60th anniversary of the holiday in which we show gratitude to the cherished employees who are often the backbone of the office.

According to the International Association of Administrative Professionals1, admins are often responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time and under budget. They unify offices, support clients and vendors, and manage the flow of data using complex industry-specific software and other technologies. Admins are a vital part of the workforce, and have critical roles in nearly every field. Additionally, they are often asked to manage entire offices.

The Department of Labor estimates there are about 14 million employees who function as admins, secretaries and in general support roles.

While their duties often mirror the ever-changing business world around them, they have always remained steady and reliable. The success of companies big and small often hinges on admin professionals’ unique skill, dedication and commitment.
