It was a day of competition, jersey-wearing and fierce rivalry between two teams who were up for this year’s championship at . . . the ICARE™ Bowl. ICARE™ Bowl is a first of its kind event held by ICDC College to raise money for the organization through means of some friendly football team opposition. The matchup raised a total of $360, making every participant a winner.
The rules were simple, each ICDC College employee could wear jeans and their favorite team’s jersey if they contribute $5 to one of two teams: Team G and Team P. The winning team of the ICARE Bowl was the team who made the most money, which in this case was Team G at $195. Team P raised $165.
“The event was a fun way to rally up team spirit at ICDC College’s corporate office while raising money for a good cause. America ICARE™ strives to give back to veterans in need and we look forward to using that money toward them,” says the Director of Development for ICARE™.
ICARE is an organization that helps support military service men and women and their families with resources such as education, job placement, counseling and career development. ICDC College is also a military conscientious school who is concerned with giving back to those who served our country. This is the second event in which ICDC College has worked with ICARE™ – the first one being for the Toys for Tots toy drive in December.
But if you missed both the ICARE™ Bowl and the toy drive, there’s still time for you to participate. For the next three Fridays of February, each ICDC College campus will continue donating $5 to ICARE™ while wearing their most comfy pair of jeans. Students, faculty, staff and visitors are welcome to join.
