Toys, toys and more toys abounded at the ICDC College corporate office today, December 17, 2011, marking the end of a special holiday campaign to collect new gifts for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation.
Anyone driving or walking past Sepulveda Blvd. in Culver City today would have seen the hundreds upon hundreds of toys lined up in special boxes in front of ICDC College’s corporate office. ICDC College’s students, faculty and administrative staff from the Hollywood, Huntington Park, Van Nuys, South Bay and Online campuses started collecting toys as early as November to make sure that children would have the gifts in time for Christmas!
For this special effort, ICDC College joined forces with America ICARE Foundation™ to help make the season a little brighter for military children in need. America ICARE™ is a new non-profit organization whose mission is to provide caring, ongoing support for military personnel and their families.
Corporal Aguilar and Corporal Clifton from Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base brought a van to pick up the abundant array of new, unwrapped toys that included dolls, board games, teddy bears, jump ropes, hula hoops, basketballs, footballs, and even new clothes!
Corporal Aguilar said, “Because of the help from America ICARE™ and ICDC College, we were able to pick up hundreds of toys from all of their campuses and corporate office today. It’s a wonderful thing when community partners can come together to help support the many children in need.”
