This Halloween, ICDC College will be getting into the spirit of things by celebrations at each campus, and contests that will have you howling for more. This ICDC College tradition of costume-wearing and decorating classrooms will be one that continues to exist after 15 years, with each campus adding their own cultural flair to the celebration.
The Hollywood Main Campus, keeping things festive and academic, is going to have two costume contests: one for students and another for faculty and staff. And this campus already had a head start on their enthusiasm for Halloween, as they already had classrooms and offices decorated as haunted houses and cemeteries.
“We wanted to celebrate and have fun, but keep the focus on the new students that come in on Monday as well,” says the Hollywood Campus president.
ICDC College’s Huntington Park campus is taking a different approach. There will be a pumpkin-carving contest, and between the hours of 1 pm – 3 pm, students will be bringing their children to trick or treat in the offices. In addition, students can dress up, classrooms will be decorated, and most classes will be having potlucks.
“Last year each department dressed up in the same theme – Admissions as Greek gods, Financial Aid as dominoes, Front Desk as fairies, and Management as pirates,” says Huntington Park Campus president. “Students and staff loved the idea, so we are again dressing up in-sync within each department.”
At the South Bay campus, both the morning and evening students will participate in a costume contest and there will be class competitions for the best-decorated classroom.
Van Nuys will be having a classroom decorating contest and the class with the best decor wins a pizza party. The celebration will include hot dogs from Costco.
As for the Online Campus, student support staff will be dressing up and having a friendly costume contest competition and lots of treats.
