Students at ICDC College’s Hollywood Campus had the opportunity to participate in their own version of a television game show last Friday, September 2, 2011. All students who attend morning classes at the Hollywood Campus gathered together for an energetic “Battle of the Classes” event.
In this fun and playful version of “Guess Who,” students were challenged to identify whose baby picture belonged to which faculty or staff member. Faculty and staff, who anonymously submitted their baby photos, flashed their pictures onto a large projector screen, and two pre-selected student contestants from each class had to identify them. Representatives from each of the nine classes wrote their best guesses onto a piece of paper, while being cheered on by their classmates. All contestants then revealed their guesses at the same time.
Faculty who participated included the Campus President, Associate Campus Director, and various other faculty and staff. The three contestants with the highest number of correct guesses in the “Guess Who” game were the Medical Assistant class (1st), Alcohol and Drug Counseling class (2nd) and Massage Therapy class (3rd).
“It was a blast, everyone was really excited,” says the Campus President.
And excited they should be: The 1st place prize was a movie-and-pizza party with all the fixings for the entire class, while 2nd the place winner got a movie day, and the third prize was pastries for the class.
Immediately following the “Guess Who” game, 37 students were honored with “Perfect Attendance Awards”.
“Many of our students pursue their studies at ICDC College while also working jobs, arranging childcare, and finding transportation to get to class,” says the Hollywood Campus Director. “Despite all these challenges, the award recipients managed to maintain perfect attendance, and we want to recognize this dedication and show them our appreciation for their commitment to their career education.”
Previous spirit-building events on the Hollywood Campus have included “International Cuisine Day,” among others. Stay tuned for more creative ideas and activities from the spirited group at our “Hollywood” location.
